Karter is One | Winter Park Child Photographer

Friday, March 7th, 2014

Karter recently celebrated his very first birthday! At our session he was already running around like he had been doing it for a whole year. And he was unbelievably quick. I had no need to go to the gym after this session, he kept me running the whole time! I loved observing his inquisitive little personality. Like most one year olds, his two great loves were his parents and Mickey Mouse. Check out all the fun we had on a breezy Saturday morning:

Baby Charlotte | Orlando Baby Photography

Wednesday, February 19th, 2014

Charlotte is already four months old! I feel so honored that I’ve gotten to photograph her three times in her four months. I did her newborn pictures, and then her Mom and Dad came out to the Christmas tree farm when she was about a month old for some family pictures outside. When I saw her on the day of this session, I could not believe how much she changed in a few months! It was crazy. She was a little irritable at the Christmas tree farm, like most one month old are. But look at this happy, smiley baby in the pictures below. If you are a first time mom at home with a newborn or four week old, this is what you have to look forward to in two to three short months. It’s really amazing how much they change at around 3 months. I love Charlottes’s sweet curls! She is so beautiful. Her mom and I were ooo’ing and ahh’ing over all her cuteness. Here is the star of the show:

My Little Valentine | Orlando Children’s Photographer

Monday, February 17th, 2014

One of my big goals this year is to take more pictures of my own family. And to actually edit and share those pictures! I spend a lot of hours on the computer, so I tend to procrastinate on editing pictures of my daughter, and then it never gets done! So when we did a little morning mini Valentine’s shoot on Friday, I made it a priority to actually edit and share them!

My daughter recently turned four and I am loving this age. It’s a little bittersweet because she is officially a big girl, there is no toddler left. But it is so amazing seeing her develop into her own little person. And a big plus to this age is lately she is less difficult to photograph. I always tell my clients about how my daughter is my most difficult subject. She tends to run from me, avoid eye contact, cross her eyes, stick her tongue out. Pretty much doing anything but whatever cute thing she was doing prior to me getting out my camera. But on this particular day she was REALLY excited for me to take her picture. I think all the fun props helped. Afterwards she said “Mommy, I had so much fun taking pictures”. I think that was a first. And I love how these pictures turned out. They really capture her silly and sweet personality.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s day! Here is my little Valentine on (what she calls) “heart day”:

August Afternoon | Orlando Child Photographer

Monday, September 3rd, 2012

It’s funny how the unplanned sessions I do with my daughter are always my favorite. Maybe it is because I’m kind of a fly by the seat of my pants sort of girl, but I just love the simplicity and spontaneity of the “pick up and go” sessions. On this late August afternoon, I glanced out the window to see some beautiful light shining in our backyard. So I threw a cute plaid dress on my girl, grabbed my camera, and off we went. I think the images really capture her curious and adventurous nature. One of the pictures show her looking down a turtle hole in our yard. Lately she has been watching a lot of Alice and Wonderland. She stood starring down this hole for a good 15 seconds, then looks at me and says “no mommy, I too big.” In the picture you can just see her wheels turning as she thinks about climbing “down the rabbit hole” like Alice.

I hope to leave you inspired to take more simple and spontaneous pictures of your little ones!

Thanks for reading! Wishing everyone a lovely September!

All you need is Love!

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

So a couple of weeks ago I did a fun “love” themed photoshoot in honor of Valentine’s Day. It included lots of fun vintage props, good snacks, and two of the cutest 2 year olds ever (although I’m a little partial since one of them is mine)! I wanted to share a little montage of our day of fun.

I hope this puts a little smile on your face!
