Immediately after meeting this family, I knew we were going to have a fun session! This Mama had explained to me that her first son was fussy at his newborn session, so she was keeping her expectations low just in case her second son was also fussy. Well, he was not very fussy at all and within the first few clicks of my camera, we got a great family shot! I showed the Mom the picture on the back of my camera and she was over the moon excited! It’s safe to say that we were able to get more than just a few pictures (partly because I have a serious issue with taking 1,089,098 pictures at every session). Other than hating being on his belly, Lawson was incredibly relaxed. The family had a very laid back vibe and style, so the Mom wanted to keep things natural (which also happens to be my personal favorite for newborns). We did lifestyle family pictures and some simple posed baby pictures with neutral colors and I just love them!
My favorite thing about being a newborn photographer is the people I get the opportunity to meet. I love hearing their life stories. How they met, life before children, their careers, and, for first time parents, the joys and challenges they’ve had in the first week or two of parenthood. As my clients well know, I like to chat! After spending an hour with this Mom, I felt as if we had know each other for years. She is such a joyful, positive, and warm person. I am so thrilled for her and her husband as they welcome their first child. He is already loved beyond measure.
I was so excited to capture a session that reflected their clean and classic style. The Mom wanted to keep it simple with a lifestyle session at their home and also some outdoor pictures. It all came together beautifully and I am so excited to hit the “send” button on their gallery email!
I was SO excited to hear from this couple recently! I worked with them for their maternity and newborn pictures with their son two years ago and now they are expecting again! Such an exciting time for them. Every time I am around this couple I can immediately see the love between them. It seriously radiates from their eyes! They are both so warm and kind, I have thoroughly enjoyed each of our sessions together. I just can’t wait for the arrival of their second baby! I know their son is going to make the best big brother.
One of the reasons I absolutely love what I do is getting to know these amazing people through the years. I’ve been a photographer for nearly five years now, so I am getting to watch so many families and children grow. It is so rewarding and I could not be more thankful 🙂
I really look forward to meeting my new clients for the first time. In the booking process I have a questionnaire which helps me get to know my clients a little bit before our session and get an idea of their style. But there is nothing like meeting them in person!
I met this beautiful couple for the first time at our maternity session two weeks ago. It was a gorgeous day with 70 degree weather and gorgeous light for our “golden hour” pictures. We had a little hiccup at our location because after we arrived I realized one of the spots I use a lot had been used for a controlled burn that week. So we went on a little adventure to find a new spot around the property and had some great conversation along the way. I could tell right away that this couple was fun and laid back. They are so excited to meet their little one! The excitement of expecting a first child is seriously contagious. I love it.
This Mom is stunning! She is proof that the “pregnancy glow” exist. Here are some of the images from our session:
Oh my gosh! I can hardly believe this sweet girl is a year old. I have loved seeing her every few months and watching her grow this past year.
I took a little time off after having my son a little over a year ago, and baby P was the first newborn I photographed after returning to work. I remember thinking how pretty and feminine she was. Seriously a perfect baby. Her parents wanted a casual lifestyle session and it was so much fun. I love photographing people in a natural and photojournalistic way. And this couple has a minimalistic and modern style that translates so well into their pictures.
We did a similar lifestyle session for Miss P’s one year session. As usual, she was all smiles and sweet as could be. We had another fun session on a quiet Saturday morning. Wishing this family an amazing second year with their sweet girl.
