It’s hard for me to grasp how quickly the past year went by. My 2015 was pretty off the rails. It involved a new baby, sleep deprivation, balancing home life and being a full time business owner, selling our house, starting the process of building a new home, and my daughter started Kindergarten. I hope I do not sound ungrateful! A lot of amazing things happened last year and my heart is so full. But my energy level was drained. I know there are a lot of other Mom’s out there that can completely relate. The balancing act is a tough one sometimes.
So far this year is going great. I feel like all the changes are coming together and we are getting a routine again. My son is starting to sleep through the night a little better (hallelujah) and our house should be finished by the summer! And I’m so excited to finally have space for a home studio! I can’t wait to offer the option to my clients.
One thing that completely fell through the cracks last year was blogging and sharing my beautiful clients. So every now and then I want to take the time to do a throwback blog from last year.
This blog is from last year and features one of my beautiful little newborns and her parents. We were able to do a mixed session with the family shots outdoors and then focus on the baby inside. These parents were so kind and I could instantly see how insanely in love they were with their new baby. The Mom impressed me so much with her positive outlook and her energy just after having a baby! It’s funny how positivity is contagious. I just love this session.
I first met this family two years ago when they were pregnant with their son. The Mom and I became friends on facebook, so I’ve gotten to see her little guy grow and change over the past two years. When she contacted me to set up her maternity and newborn this time around, I was so excited to finally see them and catch up in real life!
I have so many people tell me that they love this Mom’s first maternity pictures (beautiful mama in the black tank on my website). I was super excited about capturing baby number two (and slightly nervous about living up to the first awesome session we had)!
This time around we got to include their sweet little boy. The parents brought his favorite dump truck, which he is completely in love with. He didn’t want to leave his dump truck, but we were able to distract him enough to get some great family shots. I’m so looking forward to meeting their second son when he makes his arrival. Congrats to this sweet, growing family!
My beautiful cousin Stacy recently got engaged to the love of her life, Chris. I was so excited when she asked me to capture their engagement pictures. We decided to head over to the beach at ponce inlet. If you live in Florida and you haven’t been there before, you should go check it out. There is a beautiful beach, a rock jetty, miles of boardwalks, and the historical ponce inlet lighthouse and museum. We definitely had a lot of options for backdrops. The weather was perfect! Not too hot or cold and gorgeous light! And since it was January, the beach wasn’t very busy!
Stacy and I are both busy Mom’s, so we don’t get together as often as we would like. So I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with she and Chris. I was able to see how in love they are and how at the base of their relationship is a deep friendship. I am so looking forward to their wedding in the fall (which happens to be the same day my husband and I got married)! Wishing them so much happiness and a beautiful life together! <3<3<3
I really love capturing maternity sessions. There is just a certain excitement and anticipation that is totally palpable. Especially when it’s a couple’s first baby.
I was so excited to meet this couple and capture the excitement of expecting their first baby. We had a great mini maternity session at Rollins College in Winter Park. It was a very sentimental location because this couple attended the college and were also married at the chapel on campus. I had so much fun getting to know them and I can’t wait to meet their sweet baby soon!
I always love capturing birthday pictures, and the first birthday is extra special! The first year goes by so quickly. It feels like one day they are helpless little newborns, then you blink your eyes and they are eating, walking, and sometimes talking little humans! It’s truly amazing.
I had so much fun at this little fella’s first birthday session! He is so cute with the sweetest personality. We had a long session and he was smiling the whole entire time. He loves his Mommy and Daddy, and Mickey Mouse too. Wishing him a very Happy First Birthday!!
